What we collect, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. Effective September 6, 2026.
This policy applies to AikenCarpetCleaning.com and to the information you give us when you get in touch about carpet, rug, upholstery or tile cleaning in Aiken, South Carolina. It explains what is collected, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Plain terms throughout. If something here is unclear, ask — the contact details are at the bottom.
Very little. This site has no contact form, no login, no shopping cart and no comment section. It does not run Google Analytics or any other analytics package, and it does not carry advertising or social media tracking pixels.
Two things do happen automatically on any visit, and you should know about both:
Web server logs. Like effectively every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs. These typically record the IP address making the request, the date and time, which page was requested, and basic browser and device information. They exist for security and troubleshooting, not for building a profile of you.
Google Fonts. The typefaces on this site are loaded from Google's font servers rather than hosted here. That means your browser makes a request to Google when a page loads, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. This is Google's processing, governed by Google's own privacy terms, not ours. If you would rather avoid it, browser extensions that block third-party font loading will prevent it, and the site remains fully usable.
The information we actually hold comes from you, when you call or email. Typically that is:
Your name, phone number and, if you email, your email address. The service address where the work is to be done. What you have told us about the job — room count, carpet type, stains, pets, deadlines. Any scheduling notes, and a record of the work carried out and what it cost.
You are never required to give more than the job needs. If you would rather not leave a phone number, say so and we will work with what you are comfortable sharing, though it will limit how quickly we can get back to you.
We do not ask for payment card details, bank details or a Social Security number through this website, and you should not send them by email. If anything arrives claiming to be from us and asking for those by email, treat it as suspicious and call the number on this site to check.
Most contact with us happens by phone, so it is worth being specific about it.
Calling us. When you call, we use your number to call you back about that job — confirming a time, asking a question, telling you we are running late. Calling for a quote is not consent to marketing, and your number is not added to a promotional list.
Recording. Calls are not currently recorded. If that changes, you will hear a notice at the start of the call, and this page will be updated before it starts.
Texting. If you text us or we text you about a job, your carrier's standard message and data rates apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them.
Voicemail. A message left out of hours is kept only until the call has been returned and the job dealt with.
To answer your enquiry and give you a price. To schedule and carry out the work. To reach you about that job — confirming a time, telling you we are running late, following up on the result. To keep a basic record of jobs completed for accounting purposes. And to respond if you come back to us later about the same carpet.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade contact lists. We do not add you to a marketing list because you called once, and there is no newsletter to be signed up to without asking.
Only the people who need it to get the job done:
The provider carrying out the work. Where the cleaning is performed by an independent provider rather than directly, the details needed to complete the job — your name, address, contact number and what the job involves — are passed to them. They may only use it for that job.
Service suppliers. The web host that serves these pages, and the phone and email providers that carry your call or message. These handle data as part of running the service and under their own terms.
Where the law requires it. If we are legally obliged to disclose information — a court order, a lawful request from an authority — we will comply, and will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
That is the complete list. Your information is not shared with advertisers, data brokers or lead aggregators.
This site sets no cookies of its own. It does not use local storage, session storage, browser fingerprinting or any similar technique to identify you across visits. There is no cookie banner here because there is nothing to consent to.
Because no tracking is in place, Do Not Track signals make no practical difference to what happens on this site — there is nothing for them to switch off.
If analytics or call-tracking is added in future, this section will be updated before it goes live, and the effective date at the top of the page will change.
Contact and job records are kept for as long as there is a reason to keep them — while your job is being scheduled and completed, and afterwards for the period needed to handle follow-up questions, warranty discussions and ordinary business and tax records. After that they are deleted or destroyed.
Server logs rotate on the host's normal schedule and are not retained long-term by us.
If you would like your details removed sooner, ask. Unless there is a legal or accounting reason to keep a record, we will remove them.
Reasonable measures are taken to protect the information you give us, including limiting access to those who need it for the job. This site is served over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the site is encrypted.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise. Email in particular is not a secure channel — please do not send financial details or identity documents that way.
If there is a breach. Should information we hold about you be exposed in a way that puts you at risk, we would tell you and any authority we are required to notify, without unnecessary delay.
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. You can tell us to stop contacting you at any point, and that will be honored.
To do any of those, call or email using the details below. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request — usually by matching the details already on the job record. There is no charge, and we will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Privacy rights in the United States depend on where you live, and the picture keeps changing. Rather than track which statute happens to apply to you, we take a simpler position: whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Those requests are honored.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so the opt-outs those laws create do not have anything to bite on here.
If you make a request under a specific state law and need the response in a particular form, say which law you are relying on and we will work with it.
This site is aimed at homeowners, renters and businesses, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and it will be deleted.
Some pages link out to other websites — for example, industry references or supplier information. Once you follow a link off this site, this policy no longer applies, and the site you land on will have its own. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information.
Two other documents sit alongside this one and cover different ground: the Terms of Service set out the rules for using this website, and the Disclaimer explains the limits of the information published here.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes — for example, adding analytics or call tracking, or sharing information with a new category of recipient — will be reflected here before the change takes effect.
This page is worth a glance if you have not been here in a while. It is the only place this policy is published.
