Cedar Creek is built around an Arthur Hills course completed in 1991, and the thing everyone notices about it is the trees — the course has a genuinely wooded feel and the community has nature trails running through it. It is semi-private rather than gated, so there is no gatehouse to arrange anything through.
Two things about living in the woods matter for carpet, and neither is the one people expect.
Everyone in this part of South Carolina knows the spring yellow. What is less widely known is that the yellow is mostly the wrong pollen to worry about — pine pollen is heavy and largely falls out of the air rather than staying airborne, so it coats cars and porches without doing much to most people. The pollens that actually cause symptoms here are finer ones from trees like alder, elm and juniper, and those are the ones that get carried indoors and settle into soft furnishings.
The season runs from around mid-February for roughly two months, with grass pollen taking over from about May. In a wooded community that is a long stretch of daily loading, and carpet is where a good deal of it ends up — carpet works as a filter, and like any filter it holds what it catches until something empties it.
Practically, that suggests a timing rule: put the annual deep clean in late spring, after the tree season has finished, rather than in the middle of it. Cleaning in March means cleaning carpet that is being re-loaded every day the windows are open. If the house is already uncomfortable, clean anyway — but if you are choosing a month, choose one after the season rather than during.
Two other things help more than they sound like they should: keep the windows shut through the worst of it and run the air conditioning instead, and vacuum more often than usual in those weeks. Both do more than any product.
One honest caveat — cleaning carpet removes what has accumulated in it. It does not make a house allergen-free, and no cleaner should claim it does.

Ordinary vacuuming lifts some of it and leaves the rest sitting in the base of the pile, where it behaves exactly like the abrasive sand everyone in Aiken deals with — grinding at the yarn every time somebody walks on it.
It is also the cheapest and most effective moment in a carpet's life to apply stain protection, because the fiber is undamaged and completely clean. Whether that is worth buying depends on the fiber and the household, and you will get a straight answer rather than a pitch — on olefin, for instance, it is not worth the money.
Worth knowing separately: most carpet warranties require documented professional cleaning at set intervals, commonly every 12 to 18 months, with the receipt kept. On a new house that clock has already started.
